The position is responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. Responsibilities include interacting closely with clients and private equity investors to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; developing and managing staff; working closely with partners and staff on client management, practice development and business development activities; and formulating and delivering innovative tax planning and tax savings strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct reviews of complex multi-state income tax returns including public company corporate consolidated returns with foreign information reporting requirements, large closely held businesses structured as partnerships or S corporations and the related owner tax returns.

Research and consult on complex federal and state tax matters. Review FAS 109 calculations. Manage significant tax projects (R&D Credits Studies, IRC Section 382 Studies, Earnings & Profit Studies, etc.).

Oversee the efforts of multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; market, sell, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for clients and manage to budget.

Federal and State Tax Audit Representation.

Play a key role in the future business generation and continued development of the client base within industry groups and identify future client needs and new business opportunities.

Keep current on federal, state and international tax matters.

Manage firm risk on tax services and proposals.

Responsible for seminar presentations, training, and reviewing presentations by staff and seniors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA, Masters in Taxation, LLM in Taxation, or JD.

Progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting, preferably with Big 4 or second tier.

Experience in multi-state Corporate, S-Corporation, Partnership and Individual returns.

Superior analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined and unitary state tax returns.

Ability to manage and develop staff

Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment

Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software, Microsoft Office, and technology.
