Design, develop, test, and maintain new and existing solutions for Risk Applications group; adhere to and an improve upon established coding guidelines and software engineering processes and develop technical specifications. Develop in both Java and .NET incorporating our client’s API.

REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelors degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science; masters is a plus

5-7+ years of software development with full release cycles of large scale software system and products

In-depth knowledge and experience (3 years+) of both Java and .Net (C#)

Experience with web services, enterprise messaging, and data caching with the ability to integrate these technologies with a legacy system

Experience of financial Risk management principles is a plus

This is a direct client-facing role. The Business Analyst will be working with our client’s customers, consultants, and software engineers to conceptualize, analyze, and design enhancements to our client’s Energy  software system. The primary focus of the Consultant will be to meet the needs of the North American and European natural gas markets. You will assess the natural gas trading marketplace to identify functional gaps. The Consultant will perform cost/benefit analysis to identify enhancements for consideration for existing and potential clients. The Consultant will assist in coordinating and prioritizing development requests concerning the natural gas markets. You will demonstrate to clients how the system functionality can satisfy their business requirements. The Energy Consultant will also help to create test plans for major enhancements to the software, to be used by the QA team for future regression testing. This position will be located at a client site in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

Candidate must have 4 years of experience working with Energy Systems

Excellent interpersonal communications

Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM), power settlements, ERCOT, NERC, ISO integration, business intelligence, Commodities, Equity, Stocks, natural gas

Strong math or quantitative background

Experience in designing a trading/risk management software package

Experience with related industry software packages

Consulting experience is a plus, but not required

Bachelors degree or higher in business, finance, math or computers

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. EXCEL, WORD)

This position will require you to stay a year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
